Manchester United has signed young defender Diogo Dalot from Portuguese champions FC Porto.
Dalot made his first team debut in February.
United announced the player’s signing on its verified Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Speaking of his transfer, the 19-year-old said, “Joining Manchester United is an unbelievable opportunity for me.
“I have grown up in Porto’s Academy and I am so thankful for everything they have done for me. But the chance of coming to the biggest club in the world is something I just couldn’t turn down.
“I’m excited about working with Jose Mourinho and learning everything I can from such a successful coach. I am looking forward to playing alongside the fantastic players in the squad.”
Dalot made 7 appearances in all competitions in 2017-18 as Porto won the Primeira Liga title for the first time since 2012-13.
Dalot in 2016 helped Portugal win the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, after netting 2 goals in 5 games in Azerbaijan.
