Manchester City are ready to launch a new bid for Everton and England star Ross Barkley.
The club is also expected to hand new deals to England duo James Milner and Joe Hart, Everton quoted Barkley’s asking price to be in the region of £50 million this summer.
That was £20million more than what the defending champions were willing to pay so negotiations never happened and the player signed a new deal at Goodison Park.
But with City trying to reduce the average age of their squad and invest in home-grown talent to comply with Premier League and UEFA requirements, he is now back on their radar.
Although the deal didn’t happen in the summer, it is understood that City remains keen on securing Barkley’s signature and may go back in for him in the summer.
Barkley is currently recovering from a pre-season knee injury, he featured in England’s three games at the World Cup in Brazil and is seen as one of Europe’s brightest prospects. He signed a four year contract with Everton in July.
City are not willing to meet Everton’s initial evaluation but recent reports claim that a fee £35million might get Everton’s attention.
