Man. Utd Signs £60 Million Shirt Sponsorship Deal With Qualcomm

Manchester United have announced a significant new sponsorship agreement with Qualcomm Technologies, makers of Snapdragon processors.

The Herald understands that the deal will see the Snapdragon logo replace TeamViewer on the club’s famous red shirts from the start of the 2024/2025 season. While specific financial details were not disclosed, it is understood the multi-year deal will match or even eclipse the previous record shirt sponsorship contract in football, reported to be worth £60 million per year.

Qualcomm, which has been a global partner of the club since 2021, will now enjoy prime branding on the front of the men’s and women’s home, away and third kits. Yet, the announcement comes at a challenging time for United, who have struggled to recapture their glory days since legendary boss Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. New manager Erik ten Hag has endured a difficult start, with the team securing just two wins from their first four English Premier League games this term.

Supporters have voiced frustrations with the club’s owners, the Glazer family, whose recent decision to pause plans for a potential sale caused United’s share price to tumble last week.

However, the blockbuster shirt sponsorship agreement with a leading tech brand in Qualcomm will be seen as a major commercial boost for the 20-time English champions.

Snapdragon processors are used in smartphones, PCs, VR devices and gaming products. The deal expands an existing partnership between the two global brands.
