Manchester United continued their impressive run in the Premier League by claiming an important victory over city rivals, Manchester City on Saturday.
Eric ten Hag’s team were trailing 1-0 in the 60th minute of the encounter but scored a 78th-minute controversial equaliser through Bruno Fernandes.
In-form striker, Marcus Rashford added another goal four minutes later to help United beat City and climb within a point of their city rivals on the league table.
Meanwhile, United midfielder, Fernandes faulted calls that the equaliser should have been ruled out for offside, after City fans claimed Rashford was interfering with play, allowing him (Fernandes) to run in to score.
“On the offside incident, I think that because I was facing the goal Marcus probably saw that I was in a better position. I don’t know if any of us was offside or not but it doesn’t have any influence because there was no one close to him, so it doesn’t make any influence on the team to defend, the only one close was one close to me. It’s a goal at the end and we are really happy for that,” he said.
He added that Manchester United were now playing more like a team.
“I said it before the game, we look like a team now.
“Some time ago you could see sometimes a team, sometimes we were looking a little bit for ourselves, but now you see a proper team that works hard for each other and you see that it pays,” the 28-year-old said.
