Fans of Man United are not holding back to show how much they miss their former forward Cristiano Ronaldo who left in 2009 after 6 seasons with the club, to Real Madrid in a record breaking £80 million transfer fee.
The Ballon d’Or winner is in his best form ever having scored 8 goals already in just three La Liga matches.
The Portuguese was in for a surprise on Saturday when a banner which read “Come home, Ronaldo” was flown during Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal in El Madrigal.
Ronaldo had looked up to read the message and continued with the match which he ended scoring Madrid’s second goal in their 2 – 0 victory.
The “Come Home Ronaldo” campaign was headed by Man United supporters club, United Reel who spent £3,000 ($4,873) to fly their banner, though.
A press release from United Reel read:
“Members from all over the world have donated their own money and resources to fund a mind game message, flown by plane during the Villarreal v Real Madrid match in a bid to demonstrate to Cristiano Ronaldo how much the United Faithful still love and support him.
“With the uncertainty regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, United Reel deem it essential the player can not only feel but also see how much
the fans still love him and how proud they are of his achievements since he left Manchester United.”
After the courage from the group, fans worldwide took to social media and in all forms of clips, images as well as writings show how much they miss the Football star and want him back.
