Current CAF African Player of the Year, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe at the moment.
The Borussia Dortmund striker, who has netted 28 goals in 29 appearances for the German side, is believed to be the target of a £60 million offer from struggling English Premier League side, Manchester United.
The club has also tried to avoid signing African players because of the fear they will go for the African Cup of Nations in January of every two years, a very crucial period in a league campaign.
The Old Trafford side have struggled to score this season, failing to find the back of the net in 10 games out of 39, and are in even more dire straits following an injury to captain, Wayne Rooney, which will keep him out for up to five weeks.
United are in the market for a big-name striker and believe Aubameyang is that striker, Sun Sport reports.
Arsenal are also believed to be interested in the Gabonese international, but the 26-year-old has made it clear he doesn’t fancy the club.
While he has also expressed a desire to play in the Spanish La Liga, an imminent change in managerial staff at the Old Trafford may well convince him to look United’s way.
