Several reports have it that Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini flew to London yesterday in an attempt to make a deal with Chelsea for it’s defender Mehdi Benatia, but reports reaching us from London also claimed that Sabatini also had talks with Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Man United who’s focus was to acquire Sporting Lisbon’s Macos Rojo have now made a switch and are attempting to sign Roma’s centre half Mehdi Benatia,The Red Devils reportedly made a £24m bid for the player.
27-year-old Benatia was initially linked with Manchester City who offered £30m to Roma which was believed to be Benatia worth to The Yellow-Reds, but City was unable to complete the deal. Louis Van Gaal is in desperate need of more central defenders to complete his 3-5-2 formation is now closing in for the Frenchman.
