An Ohio man has been arrested by the police for allegedly stealing an ambulance with a patient and a medic behind then embarking on a joy ride.
The incident occurred on the 20th of October after medics were called to the 400th block of Salem Avenue in Dayton, Ohio, at around 6.30pm.
It was reportedly gathered that while the medics were treating a person outside the ambulance, Jeffrey Brown, 44, apparently spotted keys in the ignition of the ambulance and hopped inside and drove away. Unknown to him, there was also a medic and a patient in the back of the ambulance when he began his joyride.
The police were informed and they chased the stolen ambulance. They were finally able to stop it a mile and a half away from the site of the theft.
The Dayton officer yelled at the man when they caught up with him asking him what he was thinking.
Brown was charged with kidnapping, abduction, grand theft auto and failure to comply after he allegedly drove off in the ambulance. He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail.
