A Kano High Court on Tuesday, ordered the remand of a 30-year-old man, Bashir Abdullahi, in correctional centre for alleged murder of his neighbour, Ibrahim Umar.

Abdullahi, who resides at Bachirawa Area of Kano metropolis, is standing trial on a one count charge of culpable homicide.
the Trial Judge, Justice Umar Usman-Na’abba, ordered that the defendant be remanded in a correctional centre and adjourned the case until Aug. 18, for hearing.
The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Lamido Sorondinki, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 24, at about 5:00 p.m. at Bachirawa Quarters in Kano metropolis.
Sorondiki said that the defendant had allegedly cut off Umar’s limb with a cutlass, following a disagreement with the victim.
He alleged that the victim died from the injuries sustained from the attack.
The prosecution argued that the offence contravened Section 221 (a) of the Penal Code Laws of Kano State.
