2 Min Read

Whilst the rest of the world was celebrating with fireworks, drinks or prayers on New Years Eve, a herbalist  in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State was slaughtering his 4 year old son for ritual purposes.

The 46 year old man, Hosea Folorunso is alleged to have slaughtered his son, Sunday Folorunso, on December 31 at about 11:55 p.m. and hurriedly buried the corpse in his compound.

Unknown to him, residents who saw him, informed the police.

Kogi Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Musa Katsina, said “on the 31st of December when Nigerians were expecting the New Year with joy and happiness, a herbalist at Egbe was busy perfecting plans to kill his own son for rituals.”

He added, “On the fateful day around 11:55 p.m., the suspect quietly took his son, who was deep in sleep, and murdered him in a gruesome manner. He then dug a shallow grave in his compound and hurriedly buried the corpse after allegedly removing some parts of the body.”

Some of the parts allegedly removed included the brain, the intestines, among others.

Police swooped in on the ritualist and forced him to dig up the body which is currently being seen by a pathologist for the purpose of an autopsy.

After the autopsy, the evil man will be charged to court.
