Mathew, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Abdullahi Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 4, at 6:30 a.m. at Bolorunduro Community, Aganhun, Ile-Ife.
Emmanuel alleged that the defendant stole the fowls belonging to Mr Opeyemi Oyewole.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Law of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Obi Samuel, urged the court to grant his client bail in liberal terms, promising that he would not jump bail.
The Magistrate, Mr A. A. Ayeni, however, refused the defendant’s bail application and ordered that he should be remanded at ‘C’ Division Aganhun Police Station.
Ayeni then adjourned the case until July 21 for mention.
