Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, the Anambra State Chairman of Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), has embarked on a 14-day hunger strike over the continued detention of Leah Sharibu by Boko Haram.
The human rights activist disclosed this through a statement in Onitsha on Thursday.
He wondered why Sharibu continued to be held by the terror group after it released the others, and called on the government and security agencies to expedite action to secure her release.
“I have decided to embark on the hunger strike as my own sacrifice and contribution towards sharing with the suffering, pain and agony being experienced by the little girl, her parents, relations and all lovers of justice and peace throughout the world,” he said.
