A woman identified as Tamara Harris, 33, has been found dead in the trunk of her husband, Dequalan Harris, 35 car after he drove 17 hours to meet another woman whom he met online.
The couple, Tamara and Dequalan were reported to have been in the process of getting a divorce before she was reported missing on Friday.
According to report, Dequalan traveled 1,150 miles from Cedar Hill, Texas to Ohio to meet another woman.
Police sources revealed that they were notified of Tamara and her young child’s missing status by her relatives, officers then used the OnStar system in her 2015 Chevy Traverse to track the possible location of the mother.
Following the tracking signal, Police were able to locate her SUV in Mansfield, Ohio on Saturday morning.
Dequalan’s girlfriend, Demika Rucker, disclosed that Dequalan arrived on Friday at about 3:30 pm after he took the 17 hour trip.
Dequalan told police that he hadn’t seen his separated wife, Tamara since Thursday when he picked up her child from her home. He was however arrested after he tried to run away and the car was towed away.
Dequalan is in custody of the police and facing charges which include resisting arrest, obstructing official business and abuse of a corpse, which is a fifth-degree felony.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him. Police sources reveal that an autopsy of the deceased’s body will give an idea of her cause of death.
