Man docked for allegedly stealing 12 cartons of Emzor Paracetamol

A 30-year-old man, Francis Omoba , who police accused of stealing 12 cartons of Emzor Paracetamol valued at N242, 400, on Thursday appeared in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja.

Omoba, who lives in Karmo village Abuja, was charged with two counts of criminal trespass and theft.

The prosecutor, Mrs Ukagha Ijeoma, told the court that one Chijioke Collins, a security supervisor attached to manufacturing distribution service, Idu Yard Abuja, reported the matter on Oct 23, at the Life Camp Police Station.

Ijeoma said that on the same date at about 3 a.m the defendant criminally and dishonestly trespassed into the company through the Company’s parameter fence and stole 12 cartons of Emzor paracetamol valued N242, 400.

The prosecuting counsel, told the court that in the process Omoba was arrested and the said paracetamol were recovered from him.

Ijeoma said that during police investigation, Omoba could not give a satisfactory account of himself.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 348 and 287of the Penal Code.

Omoba, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, admitted him to bail in the sum of N250, 000, with one  surety in like sum.

Maiwada adjourned the case until Jan. 17 for hearing. (NAN)
