A man in the United Kingdom is in critical condition after he was viciously attacked by a dog that strayed into his apartment.
The dog, a Straffordshire Bull Terrier cross breed, attacked the 33-year-old unnamed victim in his flat in Sheffield.
Neighbours said they heard screams around 4.20pm on Monday and rushed to the victim’s flat, only to be confronted by a gory sight of blood everywhere in the apartment.
The dog attacked the victim on the neck and tore it open, neighbours said.
However, paramedics and police were called and were able to calm the situation before rescuing the victim, who is in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
A 36-year-old man, believed to be the dog’s owner, was arrested for offences under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and the Animal Welfare Act 2006, but was later bailed.
