Pep Guardiola has admitted that Manchester City want to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.
The Manchester club put in a £100m bid for the England captain in June but no much has been heard of an outcome.
Guardiola said on Friday that City would need to negotiate with Spurs to make the switch for wantaway Kane a reality.
Recall that City recently announced the signing of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish for £100m, a British record.
“He (Kane) is a player for Tottenham Hotspur and if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, it is finished,” Guardiola said.
“I think Man City and many clubs in the world want to try to sign him, we are not an exception, but it depends on Tottenham.
“It is different to Jack. He had the release [clause] and Jack is different. Harry is exceptional and we are interested in him but if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, nothing more to say.”
He disclosed that the club was able to sign Grealish because it £60m in player sales in the past year.
The Spaniard however disclosed that City do not have an immediate plan to sign former Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, who left the club due to La Liga regulations.
