Manchester City have qualified for their first UEFA Champions League final with a 2-0 thumping of Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
Two goals from Riyad Mahrez on either side of the half ensured Pep Guardiola’s side won on three points and secured a 4-1 aggregate victory over their French foes.
The Citizens will now face either Chelsea or Real Madrid in the final to be played in Istanbul, Turkey on May 29.
However, the game was blighted by controversy when Angel Di Maria was sent off in the 69th minute for stamping on Fernandinho, bringing back memories of the first leg when Idrissa Gueye also saw red for a brash tackle.
Manchester City go into the final expecting to be rewarded with triumph in Europe’s elite club showpiece against Chelsea or Real Madrid.
