A 42-year-old man, Emmanuel Ajiboye has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command for possessing the remains of a dead baby in a polythene bag.
The man was reportedly arrested after boarding a bus at Sapade garage in Remo axis of the state, on December 22, with the polythene bag he was carrying.
The stench oozing from the bag was said to have attracted the attention of people at the motor park who reported at the Isara Police Division.
The DPO of the station reportedly led a team of policemen to the park and arrested Ajiboye.
On interrogation, he reportedly said he was coming from Offa in Kwara State heading to Lagos where he intended to bury the baby.
He was then taken to the station by the policemen who suspected that the baby could have been killed for ritual purposes.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Illyasu has reportedly ordered that the suspect be immediately transferred to the homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for proper investigation, Premium Times reported.
