Man brutally kills baby mama within police premises over child custody dispute

2 Min Read

A bitter man unremorsefully shot his baby mama dead within the premises of a police station in Hawthorne.

The incident occurred when the duo met to switch the custody of the child they had together.

The man who has been identified as Jacob Munn began to argue with the lady while the switch was about to take place around 6 pm on Sunday, and after a while he shot directly at her, killing her on the spot.

One of the police officers in the Hawthrone Police Department, Lt. Jim Royer, explained to KTLA that another officer heard the gunshot and immediately aimed at the shooter.

However, he missed him. And as soon as he realized that his actions were not hidden, Munn hurriedly got into his car and drove off without the 17-month-old baby.

Luckily, the child was not hurt in the process, and when officers arrived at the scene, the baby was taken to a safe place.

One of the victim’s relatives who were present when the incident occurred, continued to cry uncontrollably, even as she was being consoled by the officers.

The suspect later abandoned his car not too far from the station and soon enough, he was nabbed and taken into custody.

As part of their investigation into the case, police officers have been interrogating other family members who were present at the scene of the custody switch.

The woman’s name is yet to be released to the public. Meanwhile, Munn is still in custody after he was placed on a $2 million bail condition.
