A Japanese man, Takashi Miyagawa, 39, has been arrested for fraud after dating 35 women and telling each he had a different birthday so that he could regularly receive gifts and cards.
The suspect, a part-time worker, was arrested in the Japanese region of Kansai.
Miyagawa was said to have told each of the women that he wanted a serious relationship.
Although real birthday was revealed by police as November 13, he was said to have told a 47-year-old victim that his birthday was February 22 and a 40-year-old victim that his birthday was in July.
Yet another victim, 35, said Miyagawa told her that his birthday was in April.
So far, 35 women have claimed that the suspect duped them, SoraNews24.
More women are expected to come forward.
Miyagawa was said to have gained a cumulative £665 (app. N350,000) worth of birthday presents, clothes, and cash from the women.
He reportedly targeted single women for his dating schemes, giving them assurance that marriage was on the cards.
