A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kano on Friday remanded a 27-year-old man, Tukur Yusuf, in Prison over alleged sexual assault of a seven-year-old boy.
The accused, who resides at Dandago Quarters in Kano, is facing a one-count charge of unnatural offence.
The Chief Magistrate, Muhammad Jibril, ordered the remand of the accused in prison and adjourned the case until April 12 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Pogu Lale, had told the court that on March 7, one Suwaiba Ali of the same address reported the case at Mandawari Police Division, Kano.
Lale said that on the same date at about 10.30 a.m., while the victim was on his way to school, the accused deceived and lured the complainant’s seven-year-old son into a room situated at Dandago Quarters, Kano.
“The accused removed the boy’s trouser and forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with him through his anus on four different occasions which caused him harm,’’ he said.
Lale said that the boy was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano for medical examination and treatment.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 284 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
