A 26-year-old man, Jessy James, who allegedly absconded with employer’s tricycle valued at 500,000 was on Thursday charged before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Mr Ben Ekudayo, told the court that the accused committed the offences at Agorodiyun Bus Stop, along Adeola Odeku St., Victoria Island, Lagos.
He said that the accused absconded with the TVS King tricycle which was given to him to by his employer to ride and deliver a certain amount of money each day.
“The accused absconded and was not seen until he was apprehended by the police some weeks later,’’ he said, adding that the offences contravened Sections 166 (d) and 285 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Ade Adefulire, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He ordered that the sureties must be related to the accused and must be above 40 years of age.
Adefulire adjourned the case till July 18 for mention. (NAN)
