“Majority of Wizkid’s songs don’t have replay value” – Daniel Regha

2 Min Read

A Twitter influencer, Daniel Regha, may have pissed off fans of multiple award-winning musician, Wizkid, after claiming that his songs lack replay value.

Daniel Regha, who became famous on the platform for offering unsolicited advice, said this in a tweet on Thursday.

He was apparently reacting to a trending topic that many popular Nigerian artistes were patronising “streaming farms”.

Streaming farms play music on existing online platforms, such as Spotify, to massively inflate the number of times people have streamed a song. Listening bots can stream songs around 1,000 times per minute, within minutes providing an artist with thousands of fake streams of their music, according to Digital Music News.

Music artistes and record labels use streaming farms to increase their streaming numbers and top the charts.

BNXN and Ruger, who frequently bicker on Twitter, kicked off the conversation on Wednesday.

Ruger had accused BNXN of forcing his songs down people’s throats.

In response, BNXN said Ruger’s bosses were engaging streaming farms to push his music to the top of the charts.

A rapper, Blaqbonez also joined the conversation, saying all those using streaming farms were fraudsters.

“All of you using streaming farms would be exposed soon. awon hushpuppi,” he wrote.

Many music fans on the platform went on to name other artistes they believed were using streaming farms.

However, fans of Wizkid boasted that the artiste was not one of them.

Reacting, Daniel Regha wrote, “Wizkid FC bragg!ng about “organic streams” is ridicul¤us; Majority of Wizkid’s songs d¤n’t have replay value, so most of his music streams are arguably n¤t organic.

“This is why his songs are n¤t making waves in the streets, but keep topping the charts with l¤w streams. No shades.”
