The immediate-past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has urged the Federal Government to place suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, on a watch-list.
He said this was necessary to prevent the embattled Magu from fleeing the country.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari today reportedly ordered the EFCC boss’s suspension over allegations of gross misconduct.
Taking to Twitter, Fayose accused Magu of placing him on a watch-list even as an incumbent governor that enjoyed constitutional immunity.
The controversial ex-governor also shared a copy of a memo authorised by Magu which purportedly urged the Nigeria Customs Service to place him on a watch-list.
He said that the same courtesy must be extended to the EFCC boss, who is a serving Commissioner of Police.
Fayose called on the relevant security and intelligence agencies including the EFCC, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force and others to effect this.
He wrote, “Just as Magu directed that I be placed on “Watch-list” even when I had immunity as a sitting gov, Magu too must be placed on watch-list so that he won’t run away.
“EFCC, DSS, Customs, Police, Immigration, Army, Navy, Air Force, others, over to you. What goes around comes around.”
