According to Italian website Tuttomercatoweb, Real Madrid are reportedly considering a shock summer swoop for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.
The Nigerian international who was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 0-0 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates has also been with a move away from Stamford Bridge with Southampton also keen on the 28 year old player.
It is thought that Los Merengues boss Carlo Ancelotti is eyeing the 28-year-old, whom he worked with during his time in charge of Chelsea, as he expects to lose the services of Sami Khedira this summer.
Mikel’s exit from the West London club could be hastened, with Jose Mourinho said to be plotting a move for Juventus’s French star Paul Pogba.
