Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Association of Resident Doctors, LUTH-ARD has called for the forensic financial audit of the hospital and other Federal Government-owned hospitals in the country.
While making this call at an interactive session with journalists in Lagos, the doctors said the audit should also review the number of workforce available in each hospital.
President of LUTH-ARD, Dr Moronkola Ramon Kolade said the current low patronage is as a result of the increase in hospital charges for admission, surgery and other sundry services by over 300 per cent.
She said financial mismanagement and administrative blunder is the cause of all the problems at LUTH.
