Uruguayan international Luis Suarez is expected to make his clásico debut for Barcelona as they clash with strong rival Real Madrid in La Liga on Oct 26.
The former Liverpool star was suspended by FIFA for bitting Italian Chiellini on the shoulder in Uruguay’s world cup match against Italy.
Although placed on ban, the striker was allowed to train with Barcelona after seeking intervention of Court of Arbitration for sports (CAS).
The ban for four months and 9 international matches is now approaching end with Suarez making a come back for Uruguay in a friendly with Saudi Arabia last week Friday; he scored a goal to land them a 1-1 draw.
He was confirmed fit to play against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on 26th October, same day his ban will be lifted from club football.
Speaking to Barca Magazine he said: “I’m really looking forward to the experience. You never know, but I’m one of those guys that thinks everything happens for a reason – from the 19 possible opponents, if it’s Real Madrid that I’ll make my return against then it must be for some reason or another”
“For the first two months I didn’t feel like a football player. That was the worst thing, because people make mistakes and it’s always good to accept them, but the most frustrating thing is to not feel like another worker like the rest of the players; that’s what hurt me the most”
“I won’t waste my opportunity to play for Barça. In the 15 minutes in the Gamper game I really felt like a guest, rather than a ‘Culé’ player. Over the last two games when I’ve watched my teammates playing I’ve experienced an increased anxiety and desire to play. I want to help the team, but the waiting’s almost over now”
