Lobi Stars fear no foe in this CAF Champions League, coach Ogbeide says

2 Min Read

Solomon Ogbeide, the Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars Football Club, says the club will surely defeat Wydad Athletic Casablanca of Morocco in their 2018/2019 CAF Champions League meeting on Friday.

Ogbeide told newsmen in Enugu on Thursday that he was confident of victory because his team was afraid of no opponent in the continental competition.

“Lobi Stars’ management, technical crew and players are battle ready, determined and confident of victory against Wydad.

“We have to win because it will be a thing of honour to make it two wins from three matches in the group and this will brighten our chances of qualifying to the next stage.

“Moreover, we are fired up right now, especially with the 3-0 victory we got over Kwara United FC of Ilorin in our last match in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Lobi Stars FC lost their second match of the competition’s group stage 1-0 to hosts Asec Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire a fortnight ago.

Ogbeide said further that the Makurdi club would not be held back by the absence of some key players, as the other players in the team would rise to the occasion.

NAN reports that Lobi Stars had won their opening match in the group 2-1 against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.(NAN)
