Ex-international, Edema Fuludu, on Tuesday supported the League Management Company’s (LMC) expulsion of Giwa FC of Jos from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Fuludu, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said that the ejection of the club was in accordance with the league’s constitution.
NAN reports that Giwa FC was accused of crowd violence meted out to Enugu Rangers in Jos.
The club was later banished to Ilorin as punishment.
The LMC, however, expelled the club from the league for failing to honour its matches for three consecutive home games.
“Rules are rules; where there is legality we should follow it. The LMC has quoted the rule book which is guiding the competition and it is clear.
“If you miss three matches in the league without reasons that are cogent, then you are liable to be expelled from the league.
“Giwa has continually done that in the league and definitely they are out even if they go to a court they will still lose,’’ Fuludu said.
The three fixtures the club failed to honour were against Wikki Tourist of Bauchi, Akwa United of Uyo and Enyimba International of Aba. (NAN)
