Three pastors from Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, are seeking a court ruling over a serious fight between them for the sharing of N16.5 million realised from the purchase of land and property by the church in Lagos.

Deacon Dolire Oluwaniyi, one of the pastors involved in the case, was the estate agent, while the other pastors Edwin Iky and Peter O. Odama, acted as the representatives of the church, during the purchase.

The estate agent in a law suit before Magistrate’s Court sitting in Gobs, claimed to have been cheated by the other pastors after they collected N140m from their General Overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo.

He further said that the property was purchased for N130m and after payment, he was supposed to have a share of N6.5million based on their agreement but they refused to pay him the money.

In his affidavit, the claimant stated that his company had earlier written to the church, introducing the properties which contain two halls, a storey-building and one acre of land in Iyana Odo, along Igando, and Isheri Olofin area.

The Deacon said when he demanded for his pay from the pastors, he was advised to let it go and see it as a seed sown to the church for the fulfilment of Christ’s work.

In a swift response, the defendants had said that the claimant was not appointed as its agent, legal representative nor holding partnership with them.

It also stated that the claimant cannot sue the defendants because he had no locus standi in respect to property and demanding N6.5m agency commission.

The case has been adjourned to the 23rd of November by the presiding Judge, Mrs M.O Osibanjo.
