American singer, Lil Nas X’s song, Montero is on a fast rise to debuting as No.1 on Billboards top 100 in less than a week of its release.
If he achieves this fit, Lil Nas X would become the fourth artist in as many weeks to debut at No. 1 on the chart (following Drake’s “What’s Next,” Cardi B’s Up,” and Justin Bieber’s “Peaches”).
The 21-year-old artist took to Twitter on Tuesday to celebrate the news, telling fans that if his single debuts at No. 1, he’s buying all six million of his followers a “12 pack of Hanes socks.”
Meanwhile, Nike Inc is reportedly suing the New York-based company that produced Lil Nas X “Satan Shoes” which contains a drop of human blood.
In a lawsuit filed Monday, Nike accuses MSCHF Product Studio, Inc. of trademark infringement over the designer’s 666 pairs of modified Nike sneakers.
In its complaint, Nike (NKE) asked the court to order MSCHF to “permanently stop” fulfilling orders for the “unauthorized” Lil Nas X Satan Shoes. The lawsuit notes that social media users have threatened to boycott Nike over the controversial shoes.

Nike, in its lawsuit filed in federal court in New York, said the shoes were produced “without Nike’s approval and authorisation,” and the company was “in no way connected with this project.”
“There is already evidence of significant confusion and dilution occurring in the marketplace, including calls to boycott Nike in response to the launch of MSCHF’s Satan Shoes based on the mistaken belief that Nike has authorised or approved this product,” the lawsuit said.
