The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani has advised African leaders against seeking solution to their nations’ problems abroad.
Sani gave the advice Tuesday morning via his Facebook page.
The advice is coming a day after it emerged that US President Donald Trump described Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari as “lifeless” during their meeting last April.
The comment credited to Trump, which was first reported by Financial Times, has generated a lot of buzz, especially on social media, with commentators split over its propriety.

Sani, who has been very vocal on social media since his election in 2015, also weighed in on the controversy.
He described the constant visit of African leaders to foreign governments for aide and economic partnership as “humiliating”.
Sani said that this has become even more so with the rise of the far right in the West and a new wave of protectionism and anti-globalisation agenda.
While he did not say so, Sani appeared to be taking a dig at President Trump’s America-first foreign policy approach.
He therefore advised African leaders to look inward for solutions to their nations’ problems.
The senator said, “The rise of the far right in the west and the new wave of protectionism and anti globalisation agenda, are enough signals to send a clear message to African leaders to end the culture and the humiliating voyage of seeking salvation and prosperity for their countries from leaders with no respect for our race. Africa’s future lies within the continent.”
