Liberia has recorded another Ebola death since the virus resurfaced in the country last month.
According to a senior medical officer, a Liberian woman died in a hospital in Monrovia shortly after she was admitted becoming the sixth confirmed case and second death.
The victim, Kebbeh Kollie was the sister of Cassius Kollie, one of five Ebola cases discovered in neighbouring Margibi County, where the disease re-emerged after a seven-week break.
“There is one new case, this time, the response area is Montserrado county. The person died in Monrovia.” Liberia’s chief medical officer,” Dr. Francis Kateh told Reuters.
Reuters reports that 16 people are under quarantine in the Kollie Family.
Health officials are speculating that the virus could have been reactivated by a survivor through sexual transmission.
