The Rafi Local Government in Niger says it has spent about N75 million on the construction of a 500-capacity conference hall at Kagara town.
Alhaji Gambo Kagara, the Chairman of the local government council disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Minna on Tuesday.
Kagara said that the projects would enhance revenue generation of the council.
He said that funds realised from the project would be used in executing other meaningful projects that would enhance the well being of the people.
He explained that the project had since been inaugurated and handed over to social department for proper management.
The chairman said the council would continue to initiate people-oriented programme that would enhance the well-being of the people irrespective of political party differences.
He also called on the people to support the effort of security personnel deployed in the area by coming out with useful and timely information that could aid in apprehending dubious characters in their midst.( NAN)
