Smartphone makers running the Google Android Operating System are in a rush to roll out the latest addition to the family, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but LG has announced it will be the first to push out the software update to its users, after Google’s Nexus range.
According to the company, users will begin receiving their upgrade from next week, but it appears users of the LG G4 will be getting the upgrade before users of other LG smartphone models.
LG said it will commence the rolling out in Poland, where it first rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade, before moving to other markets like the US, Europe and Asia.
The company said it will eventually extend the upgrade to other models including the V10, G Flex 2, G3 and G2. Just as other manufacturers like Sony, HTC and Motorola have also announced plans to roll out the upgrade on their devices but with no set timeline.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow, apart from being much faster than the 5.0 Lollipop, comes with enhanced app permissions control, finger-print support and improved battery life because of Doze mode.
