High ranking members of Local Governments were absent at their duties during Governor Zulum’s unscheduled visit to LGAs which constantly suffer attacks from Boko Haram terrorists.
Borno State Governor who visited Gwoza, Chibok, Damboa, Konduga, Askira-Uba and Bama LGAs after easing the lockdown was shocked to meet the absence of senior local government officials.
This is coming after Zulum ordered the LG Officials to report to duty.
According to a statement released by the office of the Governor, the LG secretariats were infested with termites which proved that they had been abandoned for a long time.
“Even before COVID-19 outbreak, senior officials at local government areas in Borno are notorious for abandoning their local government to operate in Maiduguri only to return there for few days when FAAC allocations are received, or when they know the Governor is heading there,”
