South Korean phone manufacturer, LG has launched its own mobile payment system called LG Pay, following in the footsteps of Apple with Apply Pay, Google with Google Pay, and Samsung with Samsung Pay.
The announcement was made in a Facebook post. “It’s official! We have partnered with Shinhan Card and KB Kookmin Card to prepare for the launch of LG Pay,” a company statement said. But no other information was given.
However, the service is only available in South Korea for now, and the company has not released information as to when it will be available in other countries.
The LG Pay service is believed to be aimed at easing users’ online purchases using their smartphones.
The company has however promised to come forward with more information in the coming weeks.
