Garba Shehu
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu has admonished the Peoples Democratic Party to stop distracting the president’s anti-corruption campaign with “malicious and unfounded” allegations of selective justice.
He said this on Friday while reacting to an allegation of the opposition party, published by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Olisa Metuh.
Mr Shehu reiterated the president’s commitment to ending corruption in the country, stating that the president never directed the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) not to probe any APC governor.
He challenged Mr Metuh to produce any evidence or instance proving President Buhari interfered in the activities of the EFCC by telling them who to prosecute and who to shield from prosecution, or apologize to Nigerians for willfully spreading falsehoods and using propaganda to gain cheap publicity.
It was convenient, Shehu stated, for the PDP to remember the cases of Sule Lamido, while pretending not to notice the fact that former Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, who is an APC member, was also arrested and arraigned simultaneously.
