Former Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Leke Pitan has formally declared his intention to run for governorship in the state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress,APC. He made this declaration on Tuesday at a rally which was held at Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
Dr. Pitan outlined his achievements and emphasised that he is the best candidate to represent APC. He said “as a grassroots mobiliser and political leader, and one who staunchly believes in the ethos of social welfarism in governance, I have served in various capacities in the parties of true progressives, from the days of the Action Group in the late 1970s, to the Unity Party of Nigeria in the 1980s, to the Social Democratic Party in the 1990s.”
He listed out his eight point blue print which included economic empowerment, health care reform, security, educational reform, food security and affordable housing.
He also promised to follow the legacies of, former Governor Bola Tinubu and the incumbent, Governor Babatunde Fashola, former Governor Lateef Jakande if he is elected as governor.
