Controversial Body-baring singer, Maheeda recently expressed her belief that legalizing prostitution in Nigeria will make a positive difference.
According to her, other developed countries who have done likewise have benefitted from the law.
Speaking in a recent chat with Dailypost, she said “legalizing prostitution is being done by some very developed countries. Are they stupid? Nah I don’t think so.. Is our country better than theirs? Well you answer that; if you ask me, legalizing it will make a great deference.”
Asked about her experience with sexual harassment, she observed that women abuse is a cultural phenomenon in Nigeria. Maheeda explained, “Harassment is normal in Nigeria, or from Africans, most of them are not being taught to respect women… Their parents give them reasons to misbehave. They say because a lady is naked, it is allowed to rape her or harass her. Bad teachings. It is like saying because a new car is parked outside with the keys, you can steal it, it is the owners fault.”
She also revealed that she doesn’t have any problem with her kids following her footsteps of constantly parading their sensitive parts in full public glare.
“Will support my kids when they are 18 years of age in whatever they choose to do or be that will not hurt or kill somebody … I will not allow them to steal, as for my footstep, it is their choice … I am doing great by the way!!!” she added.
