In a surprising turn of events, President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that the law supports the claim of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This position was released in a statement signed by the President’s spokesperson, Shehu Garba on Wednesday evening.
President Buhari said he received very convincing advice regarding the leadership crisis within the APC and will hold a meeting with Victor Giadom on Thursday.
“The President has received very convincing advice on the position of the law as far as the situation in the party is concerned and has determined that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman,” the statement read.
Because he will always act in accordance with the law, the President will be attending the virtual meeting Giadom called for tomorrow afternoon.
We urge the media to stop promoting manufactured controversies and to not give any further room for mischievous interpretations of the law on this matter.
“In addition to the President, the Giadom meeting will, hopefully, be attended by our Governors and the leaders of the National Assembly.”
The crisis started after former National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole was sacked by the court after which Victor Giadom declared himself as Acting Chairman.

The National Working Committee of the party, kicked against this and appointed Former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi as Acting Chairman.
Giadom however got the orders of a court to act as National Chairman of the party and wrote the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) accordingly.
