A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulaziz Danladi, has distributed food items to his constituents to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Danladi, representing Keffi East constituency at the assembly, distributed the items on Friday in Keffi.
He said that the gesture would also help in bringing relief to the people of his constituency during the holy month of Ramadan.

The lawmaker urged the beneficiaries to use the items to improve their standard of living and those of their family members.
NAN reports that the items distributed included 150 bags of 25kg rice, 200 bags of 50kg rice, six bags of local rice, 50 bags of 50kg sugar and 50 bags of millet, among others.
”The Keffi East constituency has 36 polling units and these palliatives will get to the people in all these polling units in order to help cushion the effect of coronavirus and improve the living standard Ramadan,” he said.
Danladi called on the people of his constituency and Nigerians, in general, to respect the stay-at-home order by the government and maintain social distancing as well as other preventive measures to avoid the spread of coronavirus.
He also called on the people to continue to pray for God’s intervention on the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The lawmaker assured his constituents of quality representation at the state legislature through the execution of people-oriented programmes that would have a direct bearing on their lives.
Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the lawmaker for the kind gesture, praying to God to bless him abundantly.
