Recently in his interview with The Cut magazine, he revealed why he chose to retire.
Law Roach is one of the most notable influential stylists as he has styled iconic looks for stars such as Zendaya, Ariana Grande and even Hunter Schafer for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party which held on Sunday, March 13.
He revealed that he never stated he was done with fashion, he said he was only done with the celebrity styling aspect. Law Roach said “I’m not saying I’m retiring from fashion. I love fashion. I love the businesses, and I love being creative. What I’m retiring from is the celebrity styling part of it: the being in service and at service of other people”
He went ahead to state that opposed to people’s belief that his announcement was a PR stunt, he was rather serious with his decision.
“I was riding in the car and I made a decision. I said: ‘You know what, I’ve done everything I wanted to do in this career. I’ve received all the awards, the accolades, I’ve changed people’s lives…And I just feel like, I’ve had enough,'” Law continued. “So that Instagram post wasn’t a PR stunt. It was really me giving myself the grace to say: It’s okay. You can do something else”
When discussing on his plans moving forward, Law Roach revealed that he would be doing “other things” and would most definitely be teaching and wants his impact on people to be his legacy.
