Officers of the Nigerian Police have arrested Kano state’s Deputy Governor, Nasiru Gawuna, as well as its Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sule. The duo was taken into custody for allegedly threatening public peace in the state.
According to reports, the deputy governor, and the commissioner, allegedly attempted to create chaos at the collation center in Nasarawa Local government, while the governorship elections results were being collated.
They were said to have carried out the illegal act around 2 am, making it impossible to release results of the election as at when due.
Election results from that particular local government will possibly determine whoever will become the next governor of the state.
