Latest News: APC moves to support AAC candidate for Guber polls in Rivers

1 Min Read

The leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Rivers State have decided to pitch the party’s tent under the African Action Congress during the upcoming governorship elections.

The APC will now solicit support from its members to vote for Awara Biokpomabo, the governorship aspirant of their new ally, AAC.

According to Punch, Rivers State publicity secretary, Chris Finebone, confirmed the sudden development through a voice message that was shared with its correspondent.

Latest News: APC moves to support AAC candidate for Guber polls in Rivers

AAC’s candidate is said to hail from an ancient Kingdom known as Kula in the Akuku Local Government Area of the state.

The move is most likely because the APC will not be having any representative for the elections as a Federal High Court had asked INEC to erase the party’s image from the ballot papers prepared.

Judging from a political angle, the decision was taken in a bid to contest indirectly against the main opposition, Governor Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Other indications revealed that the leader of the APC in the state, Rotimi Amaechi, approved the idea to back the AAC candidate.
