The burial of the late governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi who died on Thursday has been postponed till further notice.
According to a statement released by Ajimobi’s aide, Tunji Bolaji said that the burial has been postponed and the family will soon make an announcement of the burial program.
He said: “The funeral arrangements will be announced soon by the family but it will be observed privately so as to be in accordance with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines.”

According to Akin Abayomi, Lagos state Health Commissioner, Ajimobi died of multiple organ failure in First Cardiologist private medical facility in Ikoyi. It would be noted that the former Oyo Governor had suffered underlying diseases that worsened after he contracted the novel coronavirus.
He tweeted: “We regret the death of immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajumobi who passed on June 25, 2020 at First Cardiologist Consultant; a private #COVID19 approved care facility in Lagos State. The former Governor died from multiple organs failure following complications from #COVID19 infection.
“On behalf of #COVID19Lagos Incident Commander @jidesanwoolu and the entire #COVID19Lagos response team, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the former Governor and the people of Oyo state. May his soul rest in peace”
