A 48-year-old auto technician, Oluwole Ogunfeyimi, was on Wednesday brought before an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State over alleged threat to life and damage of his brother’s property worth N450,000.

The accused of No. 56, Akosile St., in Okitipupa, was arraigned before Magistrate Banji Ayeomoni on a three-count charge of threat to life, unlawful damage and stealing.

On May 2 at 4. 30 p.m. on Erinje Road, Okitipupa, the accused, armed with a cutlass, had threatened to kill his brother, Adegbenro Ogunfeyimi, over a land dispute, according to Police Prosecutor Zedekiah Orogbemi.

Orogbemi said the accused also damaged several aluminium windows valued at N450,000 and stole N750,000 cash in the complainant’s house.

The offences contravened Sections 86(1), 451 and 390(9), Criminal Code, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N800,000 with a surety in like sum.

He said the surety must present a year tax clearance as part of the bail conditions.

Further hearing in the case has been fixed for June 21. (NAN)
