Plateau State Governor, Governor Simon Lalong has set up a committee to manage the implementation of the state’s N5.375 billion bailout funds.
The Governor also approved the also approved a total of N40 million for the purchase of Rams and Cows to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Yusuf Hawaja said this while addressing journalists after presenting foodstuffs and a cow to the Jos prison inmates and Aisha Mana Orphanage Home in Jos.
He said “The Lalong administration will not relent until he achieves his goals of ensuring the welfare of his people. More good things will come and we will continue to render services to the people.”
Members of the committee include the state Accountant-General, Mr. Cyril Tsenyil; Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Pension Matters, Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission; state Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Director-General, Debt Management Office, DMO; State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC; State Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, and Mr. Selfa Dashe, who is to serve as Secretary.
State Head of Service, Mrs. Huldah Fwangchi is the chairperson of the committee.
The Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Emmanuel Nanle in a statement said “The Governor met with the members of Plateau State Public Service Joint Negotiating Council to update them on the State Government’s Debt Restruc-turing and issues surroun-ding the total amount of bailout available to the state.”
