The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that held today did not discuss the controversy trailing Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami.
Many Nigerians have called on the minister to resign honourably or be sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari after videos emerged of him expressing support for terror groups, Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); The Punch Newspapers; Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike; Minority Leader of House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu; and Convener, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, are among prominent organisations and individuals that have demanded Pantami’s removal.
State House correspondents asked Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who led the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola to the State House media gallery for the post-FEC briefing, if the Communications Minister’s matter came up at the FEC meeting in light of the public outcry generated by the controversy.

Responding to the question, the Information Minister said, “I’m not going to go into the issue of whether government is comfortable or not. I will answer your question directly. It was not discussed at the council meeting.”
