Lagosians have reacted angrily to news of another containing falling off from the Ojuelegba bridge and killing commuters down below, a year after a similar incident occurred and led to multiple deaths.
In the latest incident which occurred around 9pm on Tuesday, a suspected unfastened container fell off from a truck conveying it and landed on a ‘danfo’ bus and some private cars.
The number of casualties remains unknown.

All they wanted to do was get home to their families after a hard day’s work but now they’re dead- crushed and mangled in several pieces. Sigh. #Ojuelegba

I remember always looking up whenever I’m close to that Ojuelegba bridge. I had once missed being crushed by a falling container once. I still live with that fear. Thank I don’t live around there anymore.

A truck has fallen off Ojuelegba Bridge, landing on 3 commercial vehicles and a private car. Casualty figures are unknown.
As at 22:50pm, NOT ONE Nigerian TV station is reporting from the scene.
They are all celluloid versions of Linda Ikeji's blog. Copy and paste jooor.

We don’t learn from past blunders and we mostly believe in temporary fixes. May the souls lost rest in perfect peace. This is neither the first nor second time this will be happening. Container falling from OJUELEGBA bridge in 2018 doesn’t show we have grown or learnt anything 😞

Some people won't make it home alive today because a container fell from Ojuelegba Bridge.
Negligence kills.
But many Nigerians, like typical Africans will say the "devil" is responsible. They won't hold Government responsible.

Tragedy @ Ojuelegba today.
Lagosians would rather mourn incidents in US than the tragedy at their backyard.
Anyone of us might be affected next time.#Ojuelegba pic.twitter.com/i3HeVaIdSm

@Gidi_Traffic i wish the hospitalized victims of #Ojuelegba accident a good and quick recovery. It could have happened 2 any of us who use that interchange on daily basis. CMAC is involved. I slightly missed being crushed too on 2/9/15 by similar event. Can't this be prevented?
